Driving the View
PowerPop
Driving the View is a powerpop band hailing from Red Wing, Minnesota. Formed in 2020, the trio consists of Greg Nelson on guitar and vocals, Steve Gustafson on drums and vocals, and Tim Thomas on bass and vocals.
Drawing inspiration from bands such as The Replacements, Material Issue, Matthew Sweet and The Descendents, the band's sound is characterized by catchy hooks, tight harmonies, and infectious grooves that will leave listeners humming along to their tunes. With Greg's dynamic guitar riffs, Steve's propulsive drumming, and Tim's driving basslines, Driving the View delivers a sound that is both nostalgic and fresh.
Despite being a new band, Driving the View has already made a name for themselves in the local music scene, earning a reputation for their high-energy live performances and infectious songs. The band has played at numerous venues in and around Red Wing, most recently The Big Turn Festival last February.
The three members of Driving the View are grizzled veterans of the Minnesota music scene, each with over 30 years of experience that contribute to each song they write and perform. They are currently in the studio, working on their first full length LP, and preparing for a summer full of shows.
